Raccoons are the smartest and most destructive nuisance animal.  They can climb just about anything, including trees, brick, stone, stucco, downspouts, etc. They take up residence in attics, chimneys, under sheds and hot tubs, crawl spaces, campers, etc… If noises or damage is noticed in any of these areas in a home or business, Niagara wildlife control should immediately be called to access the situation and take immediate action before further damage or danger occurs. Raccoons can be dangerous and aggressive if young are near by or if they are hungry or diseased.

Raccoons living in a building urinate and defecate in insulation contaminating it with various diseases. Some common ones raccoons carry include rabies, raccoon round worm, distemper, mange, etc… All can be harmful and sometimes deadly to humans and pets alike. They also carry many parasites such as fleas, ticks, lice and mites. A thorough home inspection can identify any contamination and an immediate plan of action can be set to ensure it is taken care of safely and responsibly.

With the use of live traps and other job specific tools, we have caught and released many raccoons from chimneys, attics, garages, under decks, porches, etc. This should not be done by a home owner or anyone without proper training and experience. Although there bushy stripped tails and masks make them look cute and a little mischievous they can be extremely dangerous at times.
